A bit about me...

I’m a PACFA registered Psychotherapist, Empowerment Coach and Transformational facilitator based in the Bundjalung Nation on the NSW north coast. My work is eco-focused, meaning that the healing and empowerment of my clients is integrated through being in right relationship with the greater web of life. How this integration happens, is ultimately about alignment between one’s inner nature (Soul) and the impetus to respond to the needs of their world (Service).

 My Approach

Those who I’ve helped often express how grounded, caring and warm my nature is, which is supportive for safety and connection in the work. It is also mentioned to me how sharp and deeply perceptive my mind is, meaning I have an innate talent for helping my clients access their unseen gifts.

Being eco-focused in my approach, I pay attention to the many systems in which my clients live their lives. This can include family systems, cultural systems, eco-systems as well as the relationships between body, mind and inner parts of self.

The ultimate goal of the work is to help my clients find wholeness, through which they can then express their gifts for the good of their world.

All religious, spiritual and non-spiritual, gender diverse and culturally diverse humans are welcome.

 Education and Training

I completed my undergraduate training in Psychology and Neuroscience with high distinction from Swinburne University. Following this I commenced postgraduate education, completing a two year advanced clinical training in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy with The Relational Institute Australia. During this time I also attained my certificate in recovery and empowerment coaching with Primal Intelligence Australia.

Regarding earth-led work, I have trained extensively with mentors, guides and elders over the past decade. This work has included apprenticing in holding earth-honouring (sweat lodge) ceremonies, earth wisdom training with First Nations elders, deep ecology work, shadow-work, the work that reconnects, ancestral medicine, year-long nature connection facilitator training, wild village mentorship and rites of passage ceremonies for men.

Professionally I have supported people in their healing journey through individual sessions in private practice and nature-based group programs. In 2023 I founded Kinsmen, an empowering program for earth-led men, which I run with a team of facilitators. I have also worked in government supporting farmers on their recovery journey from natural disasters. This work has included facilitating groups focusing on human connection, grief, and emotional intelligence.

In a volunteering capacity, I have guided hundreds of men through deep rites of passage work since 2016 as part of The Mankind Project International. I currently hold a position of junior leadership within the organisation and find deep fulfilment in helping good men come deeply into their hearts.

 My Personal Journey

My journey into the helping arts began typically - in crisis. In my early 20's I was a walking, suffering contradiction: outwardly charismatic and skilled as an aircraft engineer, yet internally battling severe depression and addiction. This inner turmoil was compounded by the shame I felt from my work's impact on the natural world I loved so dearly.

Exhausted by my suffering and it's impacts on the people in my life, I decided to act. Like most men, I initially sought to address the external problem, believing it would alleviate my internal struggles. Thus, I transitioned into becoming a climate activist, leaving behind my career in aviation on a passionate, yet mostly guilt-driven crusade to save the world.

Exploring permaculture principles and immersing myself in sustainable systems engineering and industrial design at a leading institution, I sought to tackle what I perceived as the real cause of my distress. However, as is often the case, this external focus did not bring the inner peace I sought. It was at this point that I fell apart.

Desperate for help, I found some solace in mainstream psychology. But it was not until I discovered rites of passage work, true eldership, and holistic therapy that I really began to heal. Listening to elders, I came to understand that the dichotomy between inner and outer challenges was artificial. I realised that climate change and ecological destruction was not a technical problem, but a cultural one.

It became clear to me that it was time to leave engineering, and so I enrolled into psychology. Since then, my focus has been on fostering cultural change through inner work, helping individuals and groups reconnect with their intrinsic nature and the living world.

This journey continues to be a dedicated pursuit in service of a more harmonious relationship between humanity and the planet we call home. For me, my work is a form of soul-based environmental activism, one that empowers the change-makers our planet desperately needs.

Beyond the work, I love nothing more than to be fully immersed in life! Surfing, Freediving, and spending time around a fire with my nearest and dearest light me up to no end. I also love to mix deep, textured, atmospheric techno and generally look for a belly laugh anywhere I can find one.

With Gratitude, I'm here to help.

My work would not be possible without the wisdom, courage and generosity of first nations peoples on this continent, and globally. It is with deepest reverence for unceded culture and country that I acknowledge all indigenous peoples for knowing, and showing us the way home. Respect to ancestors, elders and emerging community leaders for showing up continuously in the face of unimaginable colonial pressure.
